Choosing to hope that things could be different is the very essence of courage. Staying stuck may feel familiar, but it isn't sustainable if you want a life filled with peace and purpose. We're here to help. At Clarity Counseling and Consulting, we use a mixture of interventions to help provide compassionate and clear direction for life's challenges. Some of the types of therapy offered at Clarity Counseling and Consulting are: Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Narrative Therapy, Internal Family Systems Therapy, Dialectical Behavior Therapy techniques, EMDR therapy, AutPlay Therapy and Parent-Child Interaction Therapy (PCIT).
When we experience distressing or traumatic events, our brains may have difficulty processing the emotions and beliefs that emerge. Even though the trauma is over, we may live in an altered state moving forward. EMDR is a trauma-based therapy that uses the brain's natural ability to heal itself when given optimal conditions and guidance from a trained clinician. Many people describe EMDR as "life-changing" and "the best way to get unstuck." As a Certified EMDR therapist and a CIT, Julie Homrich facilitates EMDR for clients and provides consultation for therapists seeking the required training to become certified.
As a Certified Professional Counselor Supervisor, Julie Homrich, LPC, CPCS is recognized by the state of Georgia as a Certified Professional Counselor Supervisor and can provide the required supervision hours for new therapists to obtain their licensure. At Clarity Counseling, effective and ethical counselor development is a passion of ours.
Join certified self defense instructors Julie Homrich (first degree black belt) and Maury Stephan (3rd degree black belt) in this 1.5 hour introduction class that helps individuals learn risk awareness, risk reduction strategies and a hands-on introduction to self defense. Balancing nervous system regulation and trauma-informed principles, this class is offered for all individuals (including those who may have experienced prior trauma).
Next class: August 16th at 6:30 pm.

Parenting a child who is neurodivergent (ADHD, autism, giftedness) can be rewarding and challenging. We provide a personalized guide to help you support your child's unique needs and keep your peace in the process. Twice exceptional (2e) kids are gifted with a disability. These children require a unique approach to integrate their giftedness and support their struggles.
Fostering, while rewarding, can feel lonely and confusing at times. If you're seeking a trained professional to help you navigate the emotional effects of fostering or provide guidance on your foster child's behaviors, we can help.
Known as the "gold standard" for anxiety and OCD treatment, we have advanced training in providing this specialized therapy to help clients and their children move through anxiety or compulsive behaviors. The SPACE training program helps equip parents to support their anxious kids without enabling anxiety provoking behaviors.
The pregnancy and postpartum period are filled with internal and environmental changes. Pregnancy and birth can feel overwhelming and women sometimes feel as if they've "lost" themselves in their new role as a mother. Some mothers are concerned about their anxiety or anger responses and want to get to the "root" of their triggers so they don't react to their children's emotions. As a Certified Perinatal Mental Health Specialist (PMH-C), Julie Homrich helps provide healing and support for women experiencing the challenges and gifts of motherhood.

Welcome! I'm grateful you took a moment to consider investing in your mental and emotional health. If you give me an hour of your time, I promise that we'll use it wisely.
I'm a licensed professional counselor (LPC) and Certified Professional Counselor Supervisor (CPCS) in the state of Georgia. I hold certifications in Perinatal Mental Health and Autplay therapy, a specialized approach for neurodivergent kids and their families. I'm also certified in EMDR, which helps individuals heal from trauma or difficult life events. For those who are struggling with anxiety, I am trained in ERP and SPACE, which are effective and research-based interventions for anxiety, panic and OCD.
In my free time, I enjoy being outside with my 2 children and husband. Together, we’ve had the privilege of welcoming over a dozen children affected by foster care into our home through respite and emergency placements. It’s been an incredibly rewarding and humbling experience.
When I'm not counseling or podcasting, you’ll find me exploring nature through hiking and camping (okay, “glamping”) or traveling with family to learn more about different environments and cultures.
I'm a marathoner and a black belt in martial arts, but these days I'm just as happy taking a slow walk with family or friends. A few times a year, my teaching partner and I facilitate trauma-informed martial arts classes, which are designed for people who may find traditional martial arts settings too triggering.
I am grateful you courageously took the first step by researching opportunities for support. Whether you are a firm believer in the counseling process or simply view counseling as a last resort, I'm confident that you're reaching out now because it's your time to heal.

Insurance Billing (Out-of-Network):
If you have out-of-network benefits, we can provide a detailed receipt (superbill) for you to submit to your insurance company for potential reimbursement. Please note that reimbursement depends on your specific plan and coverage.
We also accept Health Savings Accounts (HSA) and Flexible Spending Accounts (FSA) for payment. We are happy to discuss your payment options and help determine the best approach for your financial needs.
It is your responsibility to verify your out-of-network benefits, including deductible amounts, reimbursement rates, and any necessary pre-authorizations. Please consult your insurance plan for details, as reimbursement amounts and eligibility vary.
Insurance Billing and Financial Responsibility (In-Network):
We currently have counselors who are in-network with Aetna, United Healthcare and Anthem BCBS.
We will inform you of the cost of services and your copay, which is due at each session. While we file insurance claims as a courtesy, it is your responsibility to verify that we are in-network with your specific insurance contract (not just the insurance company). Please review and understand your plan’s copayment, co-insurance, and deductible requirements each year.
Generally we range from $90-150 for a 45-50 minute session. Fees are based on a provider’s education, experience, credentials, and licensure level. Reduced rate slots are available based on financial need.
YOUR RIGHTS AND PROTECTIONS AGAINST SURPRISE MEDICAL BILLS:
When you get emergency care or get treated by an out-of-network provider at an in-network hospital or ambulatory surgical center, you are protected from surprise billing or balance billing.
What is “balance billing” (sometimes called “surprise billing”)?
When you see a doctor or other health care provider, you may owe certain out-of-pocket costs, such as a copayment, coinsurance, and/or a deductible. You may have other costs or have to pay the entire bill if you see a provider or visit a health care facility that isn’t in your health plan’s network.
“Out-of-network” describes providers and facilities that haven’t signed a contract with your health plan. Out-of-network providers may be permitted to bill you for the difference between what your plan agreed to pay and the full amount charged for a service. This is called “balance billing.” This amount is likely more than in-network costs for the same service and might not count toward your annual out-of-pocket limit.
“Surprise billing” is an unexpected balance bill. This can happen when you can’t control who is involved in your care - like when you have an emergency or when you schedule a visit at an in-network facility but are unexpectedly treated by an out-of-network provider.
You are protected from balance billing for:
Emergency services: If you have an emergency medical condition and get emergency services from an out-of-network provider or facility, the most the provider or facility may bill you is your plan’s in-network cost-sharing amount (such as copayments and coinsurance). You can’t be balance billed for these emergency services. This includes services you may get after you’re in stable condition, unless you give written consent and give up your protections not to be balanced billed for these post-stabilization services.
Certain services at an in-network hospital or ambulatory surgical center: When you get services from an in-network hospital or ambulatory surgical center, certain providers there may be out-of-network. In these cases, the most those providers may bill you is your plan’s in-network cost-sharing amount. This applies to emergency medicine, anesthesia, pathology, radiology, laboratory, neonatology, assistant surgeon, hospitalist, or intensivist services. These providers can’t balance bill you and may not ask you to give up your protections not to be balance billed.
If you get other services at these in-network facilities, out-of-network providers can’t balance bill you unless you give written consent and give up your protections.
You’re never required to give up your protection from balance billing. You also aren’t required to get care out-of-network. You can choose a provider or facility in your plan’s network.
When balance billing isn’t allowed, you also have the following protections:
If you believe you’ve been wrongly billed, you may contact the Secretary of State’s office at 404-656-2881.
